From RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina Federation of College Democrats is hosting multiple debates for Lt. Governor candidates on college campuses across the state.

From RALEIGH, N.C.– State Insurance Commissioner Jim Long has decided not to seek a seventh term. According to the Associated Press, he is instead backing his deputy for the job.
His deputy, Assistant Commissioner Wayne Goodwin, filled out his paperwork Friday.

He’s a Democrat and has been the State Treasurer since 2001. So far, it’s him and Bev Perdue on the Democratic side, along with Dennis Nielsen of Nash County. The filing period ends at noon Friday.
