RALEIGH, N.C. — Apparently, PetSmart stores are cashing in on political excitement.

A press release issued Wednesday:

“According to sales, North Carolina pet parents are leaning right this election season. In fact, more than 50.8 percent (50.8 percent national) of political pet product sales in North Carolina support the Republican Party, compared to the 49.2 percent of pets supporting the Democrats.
