I think it is great that President elect Obama is willing to take the time to communicate with the American public. What better way than through the internet the fast highway to communication. Times as we have known them have changed. I welcome Mr. Obama into my home via the internet or television. God Bless Obama and the USA.

  2. James says:

This is President Elect Obama keeping his word about his election is about the people, not about him. Today I have hope in America!! Honestly what can one man do? We have to work together, but we also need a leader. God bless Obama!

  3. R Lloyd Heberden says:

    Dear President-Elect Barack,

All Americans should be elated with your participations with
The White House, The Press, and all of your programs which
    you have been establishing.

With very best wishes to you and your family. As you have two
daughters, would there be a possibility that each daughter could have
her own puppy, to share with her sister and everyone? I am not that certain
of the spelling of each of your daughters names. Is one called Melia?

Also, when you have occupied The White House on January 20, 2009,
I do wish you success in converting the “bowling alley” to a
“basketball court”. Bowling is not that game, or exercise, that
treats the Spinal Column that kindly over a long period of time,
as the weight is pulling on the spine at one side during the
delivery of the bowling ball! Basketball does not have this charcteristic
so should be a much better, balanced exercise for you and your
basketball team, members, and guests. and it will offer some good breaks
from the schedule, meetings, and events, of your Office as President.

It is a great photo of you addressing everyone, with VP-Elect Joe Biden,
Rahm Emanuel, and Paul Voelker present. I do not know the name of the
lady in the photo. Thank you.

    Sincerely, ****Lloyd

Who is singing the national athem? I know a person who voted for you who would love to sing at your inauguration.

  5. jack barnes says:

Obama should prosecute any Bush Administration crimes, not just what he calls egregious crimes, and open a transparent commission investigation of 911. The problem of Republican complaints as a reason not to prosecute crimes is shortsighted. Obama has a unique opportunity to draw a line and deter future presidents from attempting the coup that has been carrie out by the Bush Administration which has undermined our constitution and replaced our political system with a predatory economic system in which corruption is the standard not the exception.

    Good afternoon,

I am speechless about all the comments that have been made regarding President-elect Obama being the first African-American President and how the USA has finally made a change. This is not about race. This is about our President and I keep reading how people make comments about turning the White House black. Is that what the USA has made the decision based on? I don’t care if the President is white, black, male, female, etc. I want the best candidate regardless of any of the listed criteria. In addition, the President of the United States of America should never refer to himself as a mutt. He is a man, not a mutt.

  7. Joel Clark says:

Let me be the one to point out the painfully obvious here. What on earth is the “Office of the President-Elect”? Does he really need another seal or is the old one just too un-presidential? Somebody want to ask why on earth he has a .gov domain? He has no office (yet) nor should he be using federal domain names…ridiculous…

  8. Ofunne says:

Congratulations my dearest brother, friend, and president. God bless you. I look up to you, not as a name, but as a reality. God bless you. I would like to congratulate Michelle for a job well done. Michelle, you have done well, keep it up.

  9. arenda murray says:

Congratulations on your big win Mr. President Elect-Obama. I am really pleased that you won the election. The question that I would like to ask you is do you think some of the challenges that you have facing you when you get into the white house, are able to be solved, especially the economy, and the war , in a timely fashion or Do you think that it will take up most of the first four years that you are in the white house. Sincerly– Arenda J. Murray

  10. Frances McCarty says:

I am a 73 year old white lady and I voted for you. I was shocked when our pastor told our congregation that you were not a Christain. I had told my Sunday School class you were Christain a little earlier. I know I heard you say you were Christain. Please send me email to confirm. Thank you so much.

  11. Elouise Brown says:

It’s great that you are President-elect but this country is in the worse economic crisis ever in history and to use your upcoming inaugural event as an exploit to fleece poor people by charging 5-digit figures for tickets is a disgrace and a conflict of interest to everything that you stand for. You should really correct the path of whoever is in charge and/or responsible for this outragenous behavior.

  12. JET says:

    Mr. President Elect:

There are two words to describe your historic victory “Divine Intervention”. Like the Messiah, the greatest COMMUNITY ORGANIZER who walked this earth 2000+ years ago “YOU ARE BLESSED” and HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO DELIVER THIS LAND. YOUR ACCESSION TO THE PRESIDENCY IS NO ACCIDENT. IT IS SO ORDAINED. GOD promised in His word that annoint a leader who will deliver the land just as DAVID did. Please read 1 Samuel – Chapter 14. It is my strong belief that you, as the next president of the US, are that one.

  13. Ofunne says:

Ma’am, with due respect, and I do not mean to sound rude, your pastor is mis-informed. The President Elect is a Christain, that is all I can say. I am sure he is very busy right now with very important (country) issues.

  14. John Jury says:

It would be most helpful if President-Elect Obama would choose the word “our” instead of “my” when referring to the cabinet, committees, etc.

EX: OUR economic team, OUR cabinet, OUR Administration, OUR problems etc.

It would give all of us a feeling that we are all in this together if we are included in the good, the bad and the ugly. It would also give him some cover if he weren’t seen as personally needing to solve all of the country’s problems, but rather leading and encouraging a team.

  15. Marion Sorel says:

Did you know, if they made it illegal for possible employers to check our credit rating,we might all have a job, especially people like me with major medical debt. I hope the President Elect Obama realzies this is the way to help us. Why do we have to poay high auto insurance becuase we have low scores. We have medical bills, not that many and not to high an amoung but, there are peoplke with accidents and tickets that pay less than me. I don’t even reside on Main Street. I livbe on the block below Main Street.

  16. Stephen Buckley says:

Dear president elect Obama, I have been in construction management for 12 years now. Construction has allows been cyclical and when things slow down, I put on my tool belt, break my back and make ends meet. This Sir is now impossible for me and i find myself completely unemployed with no prospects. While there is still plenty of construction in Charlotte, If you drive past these sites they are staffed with illegal immigrants. I am not a bigot, In their position I would have done the same thing. However the federal government closed their eyes to the worsening problem. One, the labor costs have been driven down so far no American can make ends meet even if he could get a job in construction in this environment. For example : 6 years ago the going rate for hardwood flooring installation was over $3.00 s.f.. Now about $1.50 s.f. If you can even find the work. If American consumers are either unemployed or can’t pay their bills do to reduced wages, how can they contribute to our economy? You can’t spend what you don’t have, wether you need it or not. Two, much of the money illegal aliens earn in this country is sent out of the country. This money is also diverted from our economy. I will not go into detail as to the infrastructure, schooling and considering the emergency room a primary care physician because its free. At one time people said that Americans don’t want these jobs, this argument is long past. There are just over 8 million residents in North Carolina. The newest government statistics say that there are now 700,000 – 1,000,000 illegals here in North Carolina alone. That’s one in eight. I’m close to losing my home ( purchased wisely on a low fixed rate.) And am running out of options. Something needs to change. I voted for you for change, please make me proud.

  22. Stephen Buckley says:

President Obama and Nancy Pelosi have removed, at the 11 hour any requirements for our E-verify system to be used by contractors receiving federal taxpayers stimulus money. E-verify is a simple system of determining the legal status of an individual living in this country. It is up and running and simply requires our government to require it’s use. Why would any contractor hire a law abiding, tax paying American citizen when they can hire an illegal law breaking immigrant for one third of the cost? In aadditiondittion much of this money is sent out of the country. How is this stimulating our economy?
