Sen. Kay Hagan, D-N.C. has been assigned to two Senate committees, one of which impacts North Carolina’s military community and the other playing to her experience as a state lawmaker.
A statement from Hagan’s office on Tuesday said she had been named to the Senate Armed Services, and Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) committees.
North Carolina is home to six military installations, including the Army’s Fort Bragg and the Marine base at Camp Lejeune.
As a senator in the North Carolina General Assembly, Hagan was co-chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, which dealt with a proposal to help students graduate from state universities with little or no debt.
