If Washington can’t make up their mind why not have the taxpayers decide what should be on the bill?

So the economy is cannon-balling toward the bottom, while the GOP dallies and bickers over language about “Buy American”. What we’re seeing here is a very scary game of chicken that Republicans are playing with the Obama administration. The overt political posturing has been disgusting to watch, as certain GOP senators struggle to put themselves into the “I told you so” position should the stimulus package fail to boost the economy. This is a pure case of putting party and ideology ahead of the nation, which is exactly the opposite of the McCain/Palin motto in the recent election. When you use items that represent less than 5% of the total stimulus package to hold up the process, then you’re putting the country at risk for your own political gain. This is not unlike what happen in 1998, when the GOP put the entire government on hold while it went after Bill Clinton for things he was allegedly doing which had nothing to do with his job performance. The GOP is committing political suicide right now, and they don’t even realize it.

I want my congressperson to go line by line and scrutinize that bill. I dont care how long it takes. If it doesnt promote jobs in the USA or help housing then it doesnt belong in the bill.

    BUY AMERICAN!

I had seen on TV where no matter what they do or where they sink the money into it will not help jobs. It said that it will take years and years to get jobs back.It also said going green will only create a few jobs here or there..not enough as what is needed. I hate to see what is going to happen but it is just a result of sending all of our jobs over seas to other countries leaving us with nothing. This crap is finally catching up and no one really cares. I also seen on TV where in china they are having a fit because they had to shut down factories..well Geezzzzzzzzzz do I feel sorry for them..I do believe these are the people who have tried to kill us in so many ways! Also putting poison in or food but alos our animals and babies. SO I do not feel sorry for them at all. I do think our mew president has only been in office about 3 weeks but I do see a few things that he said he would do but has not done or I do not even see it in the works yet either. He was to take care of the Children and the older people. I see nothing going to be done for the older people! The older people are the ones who put us all here worked hard to feed us and see we have all we needed to get a good education. These older ones need help with their BILLS and Insurance and medicine too. The anount of income needs to be lowered to quilify for help! I have seen some older people do with out medicine to eat or pay medical bills they owe or pay rent and utilities. Older people need the ame money as young people do . They should be able to go to a show like everyone else but with socical security Cks being s low as they are america thinks that older people need to die before they do.SO once you turn 62 stay in bed and do not get out. No food,no cars, no medicine and no fun we have spent most of the money you have pain into socical security! This is just what is going on with most of our parents in America today. Also to top it off now we have plenty who have lost their jobs that are younger too.I think our country and the president needs to give the money to the people 1st before all the nobody banks and everyone else. Because there is no guarantee that jobs will be created. Our country has to recover and it will take a long long time for this to happen we have not seen rock bottom yet and we have to 1st no matter what.We have to forget about other countries and take care of our selfs 1st. I just hope Mr Obama remembers what he said and what he said he will do for us. If you even have an income of $35,000 for 2 people I know it is better than no income at all but it is really nothing. Prices keep going up while everything else is standing still including our money.I also think that everyone who has a home loan of under $100,000.00 should get some kind of tax credit also. These banks have paid millions of dollars in bonuses to employees from money they stole from us little people. OH SOMEONE HAD BETTER WAKE UP IN THIS COUNTRY FAST! The people who has paid taxes should have all the money and no one else! These businesses have screwed up enough that the already billions have went to. GIVE IT TO THE PEOPLE!

Where were all these GOP senators (who are making a big show case of the stimulus bill for going green, upgrding federal buildings etc.) when Bush asked not in millions but in 10s of Billions for Iraq in 2003 thru 2008.

    May 4, 2008
Bush seeks 70 billion dollars for Iraq, Afghan war

    May 2, 2007
    124-billion-dollar

We can easily go back and look at the Senate Roll Call and see how these same senators voted.
