RALEIGH, N.C. — The “Organizing for America” bus is making a final stop in Raleigh today before heading back to Washington, D.C.
The bus tour is part of President Barack Obama’s 50-state push for health care reform before Congress heads back to Washington. Members of the community and grassroots groups will join speakers like Congressman David Price and Organizing for America Deputy Director Jeremy Bird.
Those against the president’s plan will also be at the event. NBC 17 spoke with Randy Dye who is a member of Triangle Conservatives Unite. He said his group, other conservatives and independents will be there to welcome the bus into town.
The “Let’s Get It Done: Raleigh National Bus Tour Stop” begins at 5:45 p.m. at the Progress Energy Performing Arts Center Plaza in downtown Raleigh. Doors open at 5 o’clock and the event is scheduled to run until 7:00 p.m.

The health care reform rally was a huge success. The speakers were all inspirational and informative. The crowds were authentic, excited and motivated. The signs were of all makes and skill levels, not mass produced. The people’s energy and commitment for affordable and universal health care is real. The people who were there in dissent pretty much honked their car horns and yelled, but they could not drown out the widespread noise of the reformers. I know something good will come from this great movement for health care reform. And a bit of the history was played out yesterday in Raleigh.

It was a joke. There were many people who were bussed in from out of NC to support ObamaCare and the liberals actually came over to the peaceful conservative “free speech area” to try to pick fights. I felt like I was on a grammar school playground.
The ObamaCare supporters were just plain misinformed about ObamaCare versus how we could fix the problems we admittedly have in the cost of medical care. I tried to engage in discussions with the liberals but frankly the only person mature and informed enough to have an intelligent discussion was a great 15 year old girl from Daniels Middle School. I refer people to advocateyourself.blogspot.com for alternatives to ruining our country’s medical care system.
I am glad I could help change the site from WakeMed North Emergency Department. I cannot believe that any rational person would have thought an ED was appropriate venue for a political rally! Makes me wonder about the administration at WakeMed North.
I hope that my country wakes up soon and realizes that the initial settlers in the US TRIED socialism. It failed miserably. Then we fought for the right to be different than Europe and Britain. We fought for capitalism and freedoms. If liberals prefer socialism, they have freedom of movement and the right to leave the US. I dont care if you are a recent immigrant or your peeps were immigrants, leave the structure of our society alone.
America – love it or leave it.
