RALEIGH, N.C. – North Carolina political heavyweights are coming together to raise money for Virginia’s Democratic nominee for governor.
Gov. Beverly Perdue and former Gov. Jim Hunt are involved in a fundraiser for Virginia state Sen. Creigh (kree) Deeds scheduled Oct. 1 at the Capital City Club in downtown Raleigh. The suggested minimum contribution is $500.
Perdue is the headline name on the invitation, while Hunt is listed as a member of the host committee.
Deeds is competing with Republican Attorney General Bob McDonnell for the right to succeed Tim Kaine as governor.
