CARY, N.C. – With time running out to convince voters, a lot of candidates are hitting last-minute campaign stops.
Cary’s Chamber of Commerce hosted a forum Wednesday morning for candidates vying for two different congressional seats.
The breakfast event spent a lot of time focused on one of the biggest issues facing any candidate right now: the economy and how it affects folks here.
“I think Cary in many ways shows us the way forward for North Carolina, where we’re not dependant on just a few businesses or a few commodities,” said Rep. David Price, who’s running to keep his District 4 seat.
Price’s challenger, Dr. BJ Lawson was also on hand.
“We have benefited because we have a diverse economy here in the Triangle, and we’re still attracting businesses that are relocating here,” said Lawson. “However, I’m also interested in ensuring the opportunities we have in the best part of the Triangle are also available in places like inner city Durham.”
The forum also featured District 13 candidates Brad Miller and Hugh Webster.
